A comparative class – the differences between the desert and the mountains, what to carry for you and your dog, the dangers and pitfalls in each environment. A discussion of high altitude and back country search and rescue as applied to conditions in California. This PowerPoint presentation will focus on search team safety and will include altitude sickness, weather and physical hazards, staying comfortable in the back country, travel safety, wild animal encounters, back country medical issues and equipment. Searching in the desert: Where everything is out to get you.
1500 – 1700 NecroSearch Approach to locating Clandestine graves

This course will provide an overview of the NecroSearch International organization and explain how they approach searching for clandestine graves. It highlights local resources that could be enlisted to aid law enforcement in location of clandestine graves.
1600 – 1800 Open Discussion & Questions on K - 9 use
BILL MACAULEY YODOGS, WOOF
A panel of experienced search dog handlers from multiple disciplines will answer questions on training dogs for wilderness, avalanche, cadaver, trailing disaster and anything else relating to search dogs.
