Each one of the millions of people who visit Yosemite annually has a job to do in protecting the park and its natural and cultural resources. While in Yosemite , you become its most important steward. Please keep the following list of things in mind;  all regulations exist to  protect you and the park around you and will be enforced during SARex.
 

  • Help keep wildlife “wild” make sure all food and scented items are properly stored in bear proof storage containers or  dumpsters.
  • Leave things as you found them. Collecting any natural or cultural items in the  park is prohibited.
  • Pets are welcome in many front country places  in Yosemite . If you are planning on bringing your pet, please take the time to read and comply with regulations.
  • Authorized Federal, State, and local law enforcement officers may carry firearms in the performance of their official  duties. Firearms are otherwise prohibited in the park.
  • Mountain biking is prohibited on most park trails and in designated Wilderness. Please refer to the activities guide for  places where bikes are permitted in the park.
  • All motorcyclists must wear helmets. ATV’s must remain on trailers while in Yosemite National Park boundaries.
  • Stay alive, don’t drink and drive! For your  safety, park rangers enforce laws against alcohol and drug related driving offenses.
